It’s early December in 1974 and you’ve graduated from college and gotten yourself a pretty nice job working for the city. It’s time to get rid of that ratty old six string and buy yourself an early Christmas present! You go out and purchase a Martin D12-18…brand new!

Everything is going great except you have neither the time nor the inclination to play your brand new guitar very much at all. So the 1974 Martin D12-18 languishes in its case for 36 years. Once in a blue moon you take her out to strum a few chords and then back in the case she goes. Now it’s 2010 and you decide that it’s time to move on, so you sell your Martin to We Buy Guitars…

…And what a beauty she is. This D12-18 has a solid spruce top with mahogany sides and back. It was the second year of manufacture and they were produced by Martin until 1995. The guitar is all original and as you can imagine, this example is in almost as/new condition. At this time period Martin guitars were sold with a blue hard shell case. The blue case that will sell with this guitar is in pristine condition as well. Also included are the “The Care and Feeding of Your Martin Instrument” owner’s manual, case key, and original receipt.

This guitar has a straight, easy playing neck with wonderfully low action and she sounds like a dream. This D12-18 has a great neck angle as well. The frets are as/new. Don’t miss this “time-capsule” of a guitar. As always, it will be professionally packed with care.
