Here we have a 1965 Gibson non-reverse Firebird III in its still vibrant Cherry finish. We’re so used to seeing this color on SG’s and EB0’s, but it is very unusual to see it on a Firebird. This guitar, which sports three screaming single coil P-90 pickups and a vibrato tailpiece epitomizes Gibson’s attempt to compete against Fender’s Stratocaster…and a beautiful job they did too.

The pickups measure 8.32 k ohms for the neck pickup, 7.83 k ohms for the middle pickup, and 7.54 k ohms for the bridge pickup. The electronics cavity on this guitar is pristine…the only potentiometer code we can read is 39th week of 1965.

This beauty is all original and weighs in at 6 lbs 10 oz. Also included is its original hard shell case.
