What a super clean 1964 Gibson SG Special, sn# 2695XX in a beautiful Cherry finish. This all original beauty also sports its factory original Maestro Vibrato.
Although this guitar was played, the original owner took great care of her. There are a few small nicks at the bottom edge but it has retained its beautiful deep rich cherry finish. There is a small amount of slight fading at the arm resting spot and a slight discoloration (possibly from a stand) on the back/top of the neck which you can’t feel at all when you play…otherwise I would call this baby mint!

The neck is straight and plays like a dream. The truss rod works as intended. The frets are original and have plenty of playing time left on them. The inline Kluson Deluxe tuners function as intended as well.
The plastic on this guitar is all original as well, as are all the electronics. The potentiometer codes (the ones that are totally visible) read 37th week of 1964 and the solder is factory untouched. The two screaming P-90 pickups read (at the output jack) 7.86 k ohms for the neck and remarkably the same 7.86 k ohms for the bridge as well. This SG Special weighs in at a scant 6 lbs. 13.8 oz. and has had no breaks or repairs. It will ship in a well padded gigbag.
If you have been searching for a superb example of a classic SG Special with that early classic Santana vibe …this is definitely the one.
