Here we have a one owner 1954 Gibson Les Paul Gold Top. This guitar was purchased from the widow of the original owner, Teddy King. We were told that Teddy was the guitar player and singer in the C&W band “The Melody Kings.” Original photos of what looks like a mid 50’s recording session will be included with the sale.

The guitar plays and sounds great, just like it did back then. The frets are original and are in nice shape. They have plenty of life left. The neck is straight and the truss rod works as was intended. The two P-90 pickups both work perfectly. The bridge pickup measures 7.44 k ohms at the output jack and the neck pickup measures 7.32 k ohms also at the output jack.

The Kluson tuners are all original and work as was intended. The electronics are original with no solder breaks and also work as intended. All plastic parts are original as well.

The guitar has some of that typical goldtop finish checking and also a few chips. She weighs in at 8 lbs 10 oz. This guitar will ship in its original Gibson four latch; brown with pink lining case.
