This guitar has a spruce top with maple sides and back. The neck is
mahogany with a rosewood fingerboard. The fingerboard has dual-parallelogram
inlays. The frets are original and have very little wear. The original
Kluson tuners and the truss rod work as intended. The neck is straight
and does not need a reset. The action is low.
All parts on this guitar are original and no modifications have been
done. The pick guard, bridge, and tailpiece are in excellent condition.
The binding is in fine shape. There are some minor nicks and scratches,
some finish checking, and a small finish crack under the cutaway. That
said, this 58 year old, belies its true age and looks and plays like
a dream. The guitar has a wonderful woodsy tone and is surprisingly
loud for an archtop as well.
The chip board Gibson case’s hinges have broken over time. The
guitar will need a new case for safety’s sake. As always, it will
be professionally packed with care.
