We Buy Guitars has been appraising vintage guitars and guitar collections for almost 40 years. Now we are also providing the speed and convenience of an online appraisal service for our customers. These evaluations will be conducted by Richard Friedman and David Davidson (the owners of We Buy Guitars) who have one of the longest combined histories in the Vintage Guitar business. Our fee for a written, online appraisal is just $50* - a small price to pay for your peace of mind.

We Buy Guitars also offers an in-house, in depth, detailed evaluation of your guitar. We recommend this critical type of appraisal for any vintage Stratocaster, Les Paul, etc. where the guitars’ total integrity and originality could drastically effect its value. This type of appraisal can only be done in our shop. It includes a detailed written evaluation with a step-by-step description of the process, as well as photographic documentation (which will be provided to you on CD). You can submit your photos and information online to receive your online appraisal at We Buy Guitars! It's easy and it's fun. You will be asked to provide information about your vintage guitar and upload required photos right from your computer onto our site. The fee for our online appraisal is $50, payable via credit card or Paypal.

Below is the information you will be asked to provide on the appraisal form.

Original Case, Pickups, Tuners, Potentiometers, Capacitors, Plastic, etc.

Once your form is completed, you will be asked to attach the required photos (up to 10 images) and then submit your appraisal form.

Following is a list of photographs that will be required for the appraisal.
1. Entire Front of Body
2. Entire Back of Guitar Body
3. Front of Headstock
4. Back of Headstock
5. Case
6. Shots of any repairs or damages on the guitar

After you have submitted the form and uploaded your photos, the staff at WBG will then receive a notification that your appraisal form is completed and ready to go, and the appraisal will then begin!

To begin your online appraisal, please register and provide a user name. (This does not need to be your full name, as you can provide that later on your appraisal form.) Next,you can pay the $50 appraisal fee via Paypal or Credit Card. You will be given 30 days to complete your form and provide images of your guitar.
